A thermal picture of anything is a look at the heat the body gives off, to ensure accurate readings, some preparation is needed.

·         First please do use grooming products on the horse.

·         Do not wash your horse before a scan; the horse needs to be clean and dry.

·         No brushing of your horse for one hour before a scan.

·         Try to keep your horse out of direct sunlight for at least an hour or two hours before a scan.

·         No Matter the outside temperature, the horse should not be wearing any bandages, blankets, or wraps in           the scanning area for at least two hours before the scan.

Try to keep outside influences to a minimal, meaning, try to keep your horse out of the wind, sun, rain, etc… when scanning your horse, please have a large area like a indoor wash rack available.
